Swedish Massage

Relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It also involves kneading, friction, tapping, and stretching of the muscles. Massage can be used to promote general well-being and enhance self-esteem, while boosting the circulatory and immune systems to benefit blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, digestion, and skin tone.

Deep Tissue Massage

Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is particularly beneficial for those with chronic aches and pains. During a deep tissue massage, the massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. This technique differs from Swedish massage in that it targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

Trigger Point Massage/Acupressure

Focuses on identifying and releasing trigger points, which are hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle tissue. These trigger points can cause pain and discomfort locally or refer pain to other areas of the body, a phenomenon known as referred pain. During a trigger point massage session, the massage therapist applies targeted pressure to these specific points to release tension and alleviate pain. The pressure may be applied using fingers, knuckles, elbows, or specialized massage tools. The goal is to deactivate the trigger points, thereby reducing muscle tension and restoring normal muscle function.
